Has anyone removed their A/C assembly? I'd like to know what's involved in removal, specifically: how to drain the coolant, which belt to use, what happens to the climate control unit, and how much weight did you lose???
cheers, folks,

If you don't have this, it's worth having.  Lots of info.    http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=porsche+boxster+service+manual

Weight....  ~ 40lbs? for complete removal.

The SpecBoxster group also go to a reduced pulley or "underdrive" pulley when doing this work and use an associated smaller belt.

good luck,

kj

While I don't have one installed, I have to add a "+1" to the underdrive pulley. My car has melted a PS tank, worn out a water pump, and burned through a set of alternator brushes, and I think all of these issues could at least have been mitigated by underdriving the engine accessories during track events.
