I'm not aware of anyone racing one, but I know there are a few street ones.  Mine's only 322 at the crank.  It wouldn't be difficult to come up with a 400 HP one with either a motor swap or adding a turbo to a lower HP motor swap.

I think there's a guy out here in California/Nevada area who's running what looks like a Spec Boxster with 993 Turbo wheels on the outside, but it's allegedly got a warmed-over GT3 motor on the inside. I saw it at Spring Mountain in October and it is SERIOUSLY fast...

Hey Lightning,
Any info you can gather on who & where would be appreciated. I'll search as well but you've had contact. A GT3 motor in a sorted Boxster would be very fast indeed. Thanks!

I think this is the car:

My understanding is that the guy is from Las Vegas and is a Spring Mountain club member.

It looks like the car was prepared by Premier Sports Car Service in Las Vegas, as the car is also in the gallery of their website (www.premiersportscarservice.com) under "BSR Super Spec". You could contact them for the particular details of what was done to the car.

My latest info is that it's a '97 with a 3.4l. Contact Premier for details.
